“My eyes stay open through the night watches, that I might meditate on your word..”
Psalm 119:148
The night watch is a challenge that one must be more than willing to take on. This is the time where sleep grips the tip of your eyelids to slam it shut making any moment turn into a snoring fest. I set this time for worship, prayer, intercession and reading of Adonai Yehova’s Word. It’s at this time that I have no interruptions.
THE NIGHT WATCH
Psalm 63:6 ~ I meditate on thee in the night-watches.

Interestingly, this is the time where the veil between the natural realm and spirit realm are more apparent. The spirit realm is as New York City for it never sleeps. There’s something about the stillness the environment void of human activity where it feels as if you’re the last person on earth.
You know that feeling you get when you’re in between sleep and wake, and failing tremendously to keep your eyes open? Well this is where the spirit realm lies. You can hear and see glimpse into the spirit realm. I have set out 2 AM to 5 AM as my meeting time with my Lord Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus Christ), this has extended until 6 AM or shortened based on whether sleep won or being empowered by the Holy Spirit to go deeper in worship and intercession for specific person(s) or situation(s).
There are times where I had to change my night watch devotions to match my level of attentiveness. My bedroom closet had been converted to my prayer closet. As you can imagine it’s not very spacious, however, I find it better than a bigger closet because the small space doesn’t grant me room to get comfortable as it keeps me focus.
At times, daytime activities may weigh heavy on my body compared to other days, it varies greatly. Either way, I attempt to stick with my default order of devotion which are: 1 hour of meditative worship, 30 minutes reading the Word of God, 1 hour praying in the spirit, 30 minutes of intercessions, and a couple of minutes of prayer and singing in the spirit to one of my favorite soaking worship music.
I recall a spiritual experience where I crossed that thin veil where my physical body fell asleep as I read the bible but my spirit stayed awake and I continued to read. I was just like that scene from Doctor Who.
The fact that I was reading by my spirit was not known to me until my physical eyes opened and I realized my body had fallen asleep but my spiritual body stayed awake. My prayer closet setting was the same. I did not notice a shift
It’s a challenge to find quiet time to spend with the Lord Yeshua. My absolute best moments are moments of pure worship where I am able to break through the dry worship and the tangible feeling of the Holy Spirit engulfs me like a fire blanket. It’s at moments like that do I hear the voice of Lord Yeshua so clearly.
I look forward to increase the time I spend praying in the spirit for the full 3 hours which I dedicate to my night watch for a season so the I may become more spiritual sensitive to the leading and inspiration from the Holy Spirit. If there was to be a “secret” to becoming more spiritual inclined to what the Holy spirit is doing and to become edified and strong in your spirit, then praying in the spirit more would be the “secret”. The Lord has this available for all who believe yet many in the church of Jesus Christ do not believe that this gift is available for today’s church and come up with ridiculous arguments on whether praying in the spirit is for today’s believers. Seek the Holy Spirit for your personal convictions on this matter.
I will post updates on my night watch and any supernatural events that may take please.
In the meantime, keep seeking the Lord while He may be found. Be Holy Spirit filled and Holy Spirit led.
Lamentations 2:19
Arise, cry out in the night,
as the watches of the night begin;
pour out your heart like water
in the presence of the Lord.
Lift up your hands to him
for the lives of your children,
who faint from hunger
at every street corner.
